Provide First Aid
HLTAID011
Same Day Certificates
Course Description
Emergencies can happen anywhere—at work, at home, or out in the community. Knowing how to respond quickly and effectively can make a critical difference.
Our HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course gives you the practical skills and confidence to recognise emergencies and deliver immediate care to someone suffering a sudden illness or injury. Training is delivered in line with the latest Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and national industry standards, with a strong focus on real-world application.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to assess a casualty, ensure scene safety, and access emergency services. You’ll gain hands-on experience performing CPR, using an automated external defibrillator (AED), and managing a wide range of first aid situations.
This includes treating conditions such as:
Asthma and anaphylaxis (including use of autoinjectors)
Choking and airway obstructions
Bleeding, shock, and minor injuries
Fractures, sprains, and dislocations
Bites, stings, and envenomation
You’ll also develop an understanding of basic anatomy and physiology, including the differences between adults, children, and infants when providing care. The course covers the chain of survival, effective communication with emergency services, and how to provide clear incident reports.
Importantly, we also focus on what happens after the emergency—helping you recognise potential psychological impacts, review your response, and continue improving your skills and confidence.
