Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Same Day Certificates
Course Description
Cardiac arrest is a life-threatening medical emergency where immediate action can mean the difference between life and death. With fast recognition and effective CPR, survival rates can increase significantly.
Our HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course in Tahmoor focuses on practical, real-world skills delivered in small, supportive class sizes to maximise your confidence and hands-on experience. We also offer flexible training options across Western Sydney, South West Sydney, the Illawarra, and Wingecarribee regions.
In this course, you’ll learn how to quickly recognise a cardiac emergency, call for help, and perform CPR on an unconscious person who is not breathing normally. Training is delivered in line with the latest Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, ensuring you are equipped with current, nationally recognised techniques.
You will also gain practical experience using an automated external defibrillator (AED), learn how to rotate rescuers to maintain effective compressions, and manage situations such as regurgitation or vomiting during CPR.
The course also covers how to communicate clearly with emergency services, provide an effective handover, and reflect on the incident afterwards. This includes recognising potential psychological impacts on yourself and others, and knowing when to seek support.
